Less Than Perfect
Author's Notes: This was written in response to a challenge on Atlantis100, to write 100 words on the subject of being 'less than perfect.'
Batman surveys Gotham. Outstretched arms with batcape flowing. Spies the criminal, chewing on a bone. Caught in the act.
He leaps...
Blue blanket snags a stray cable and the lamp crashes to the floor. Batman drops his cape and the criminal whines and rubs drool on Batman's ankles.
"Aiden!" Mother, angry. "Did you do this?"
"Uh..." Foot nudges the batcape towards the dog. "No.’
Your brother?’
Silence.
Perfect youngest remains unsoiled, older brother the troublemaker. Keeps playing the sensible one to feel his mother´s pride.
Later he sweeps the yard in his brother´s place. His penance for the lie.
